NREC Silvis is fully equipped to provide the entire spectrum of rework to locomotives and components. Located in Silvis, Illinois, the 82.5 acre facility has more than 275,000 square feet under roof and approximately 8 miles of yard and running track.

The division employs state of the art microprocessor controls for complete engine rebuilds, rebuilds of rotating electrical equipment and complete locomotive rebuilds. It also handles major wreck repairs, including frame straightening and rebuilds truck assemblies, All work is controlled by a rigorous AAR M-1003 certified Quality Assurance program.

NREC Silvis is strategically positioned with intermodal capability and connection to Burlington Northern-Santa Fe, IC&E and Iowa Interstate for expedient, cost-competitive transportation to all parts of the country.
